how is this site made?

leisurely and painstakingly... my website is currently hosted on neocities and i code directly in the neocities editor, saving and checking after every little change. i like doing it this way the most as i am extremely lazy. that's how i rack up hundreds of updates while barely anything changes. my website used to have a custom domain with some integrations but i got rid of these because i'm broke. if pages on this website are responsive or compatible with mobile then that's a complete accident and/or miracle.

what do you use?

i keep back-ups of pages on neocities, my computer, and google drive. i update these manually before making changes to the website. i use a dell latitude 7480 (1920x1080) with massive thermal problems, windows 10, and duckduckgo. specs. wait now (25-10-25) i'm using an acer nitro v16 (1980x1200) which is sexy and shiny.

how can i do X thing?

there are many guides online for learning how to use html/css. it's also useful to look at other personal websites as kind of research. many people on neocities create tutorials, free-to-use templates, widgets/embeds, and code snippets for specific things. you can also find these and other assets in places like tumblr and itch.io. i use animated text generators, dither generators, google fonts, yandex image search, are.na, artsy.net, ibis paint and wikiart.org to find/make elements to style pages with.
